Uplifting Conversation Pieces

Artist Jay Rolfe believes his large 3-D Shaped Stretched Canvas paintings are Uplifting Conversation Pieces. "People have an immediate emotional reaction to my paintings. My paintings bring up feelings of something that is now or was in childhood important to them. The feelings are almost always uplifting. And they stimulate conversation. Guests are amazed and love to talk about them." Rolfe enjoys creating his unique and uplifting conversation pieces.

Today's photo is Yellow Brick Road which is 8' high, 4' wide, and 3.5" deep 3-D Shaped Stretched Canvas painting. In "The Wizard of Oz," the yellow brick road symbolized the journey to get what you want. For many viewers, it has that association when they see my painting.

Two new paintings .. my journey From Starving Artist To 21st Century Picasso

Jay Rolfe was interviewed again yesterday evening by the reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer for yet another revision of the article for a different editor. I think all this is good, as it may get the article in front of a larger audience.

This morning I completed 2 paintings I've been working on. They are both variations on the "Yellow Brick Road." It feels good. Now for some deskwork.

"Yellow Brick Road" ... my journey From Starving Artist To 21st Century Picasso

Yes, Jay Rolfe is working on another "Yellow Brick Road" painting. I painted part of the mortar between the yellow bricks today, all in one direction. I'll do the other direction in a few days. Here's a photo of progress so far.

I also painted more of the swirling universe and some stars on the smaller "Black Hole" painting. I still have to find a title for it, and I'll probably name it after one of the many named black holes in the universe.

I spent 4 1/2 hours painting this afternoon. So this evening I'll take off and spend it with my fantastic wife Randy Rolfe (http://www.randyrolfe.com/).
